Day 1 HA GIANG – QUAN BA HEAVEN GATE – YEN MINH
The first day of our vacation begins with a ride to the Quyet Tien fair in Ha Giang after breakfast. The market is only open once a week on Saturday mornings and contains colorful clothing, handicrafts, and regional cuisines. You will be able to see the breathtaking panorama of the most winding slopes here known as Bac Son, Quan Ba Heaven Gate, Co Tien Twin Mountain, and Tam Son village along the way.
Before going on to Lung Khuy cave, stop for lunch at Quan Ba. The appeal of this excursion is that it takes you through peaceful highland settlements. Bam Dan Village immerses you in the cultural atmosphere of the Red Dao people, whereas Lung Tam Village is known for its long tradition of brocade weaving. If you want to buy purses, costumes, or scarves to take home as souvenirs, stop by a delightful boutique in Lung Tam.
We continue on a lovely off-road ride through the jungle and hidden mountain settlements until we reach at our guesthouse in Yen Minh late in the afternoon. Spend the night at this restaurant and dine.
Day 2 YEN MINH – DONG VAN
After breakfast at the homestay, we will depart for Tham Ma Pass. On this pass, locals used to transport horses carrying massive burdens on their backs for a short trip to test their strength. If a horse’s power is still present when he reaches the mountain, he will be raised; otherwise, he will be murdered for Thang Co, a traditional hill tribe feast.
Along the route, you’ll stop at Lung Cam, a tranquil White H’mong settlement, and Pao’s house. This mansion, which served as the inspiration for the film “Pao’s Story,” is now one of the must-see stops on the Dong Van Plateau tour. It appears to be a miniature artwork depicting a day in the life of the Mong, complete with natural beauty and enticing appeal.
Our next trip will be the King’s Palace. In the classic Chinese architectural style, the Ha Giang gem palace was constructed entirely of stone, fir wood, and terracotta bricks. After that, we eat lunch at the Lung Cu flagpole in the Lo Lo ethnic community.
Before returning to town to relax and refuel for your next adventure, have dinner with corn wine and local delicacies.
We depart from Dong Van towards Ma Pi Leng, one of Vietnam’s four most scenic and perilous passes. As you ride across this pass, the breathtaking view of the majestic limestone mountains, the poetic Nho Que river, and the peaceful settlements in the distance will steal your breath away. Undoubtedly, conquering Ma Pi Leng Pass will present you with amazing experiences.
After lunch in Meo Vac, our group departs for Du Gia. Relax in the chilly water of the waterfall after a hard day of riding. Check into your homestay and then sit down to a delicious traditional meal.
