ITINERARY: Hanoi Backstreet Bicycle Tours
Hanoi Biycle Tours :
🟢 Stage One: Exploring Hanoi’s Hidden Corners
Your adventure begins as we meet at your hotel, where our friendly guide and drivers will provide essential safety instructions, including riding techniques, hand signals, and tips for staying alert. Once everyone is comfortable and the itinerary is shared (along with any special food preferences), we’re ready to hit the streets and dive into the heart of Hanoi.
In the first stage of the Hanoi City Bicycle Tour Half Day, we’ll explore both iconic landmarks and hidden gems, giving you an authentic experience of the city. Pedal across the legendary Long Bien Bridge, a symbol of Hanoi’s resilience, and glide along the 150-year-old train tracks, leading us to a local neighborhood where families live just one meter from the passing trains. Afterward, we’ll take a refreshing break with cold glasses of Bia Hoi, Hanoi’s beloved local beer, before cycling towards West Lake to enjoy the cool breeze and tranquil surroundings.
🟢 Stage Two: A Journey Through Rural Charm
The second stage takes us through Hanoi’s lush countryside, where you’ll cycle past vibrant flower, vegetable, and banana plantations along the Red River. We’ll cruise along peaceful trails that lead through rural farming villages, where life moves at a slower pace. Here, you’ll experience the harmonious contrast between the bustling city and the quieter, more serene agricultural life that still thrives just outside Hanoi’s urban center.
🟢 Stage Three: History Meets Everyday Life
Next, we navigate narrow, winding alleys to Huu Tiep Lake, a quiet spot where a B-52 bomber wreckage from the 1972 Vietnam War rests peacefully in the water. This historical site serves as a powerful reminder of Vietnam’s resilience and the passage of time.
We then head to the vibrant Train Street, one of Hanoi’s most unique and photogenic locations, where daily life unfolds right beside active train tracks. Here, locals live, cook, and work mere inches away from the passing trains, making for a fascinating and dynamic scene. As we explore, you’ll gain a deeper understanding of Vietnamese culture and customs, learning how the past and present merge in this extraordinary city.
🟢 Stage Four: Savoring Local Flavors
To conclude the tour, we’ll enjoy a delicious meal at a local family-run eatery, where you’ll savor authentic Vietnamese dishes favored by locals. This is the perfect chance to immerse yourself in the flavors that define Hanoi’s culinary culture. We’ll also visit a historic egg coffee café, established in 1946, to taste this iconic drink, which blends creamy egg yolk with rich coffee—a delightful treat that has become a symbol of Hanoi’s warmth and creativity.
