Day 1 HA GIANG – QUAN BA HEAVEN GATE – YEN MINH
The first day of our vacation begins after breakfast in Ha Giang with a ride to the Quyet Tien fair. The market is only open on Saturday mornings once a week and features colorful apparel, handicrafts, and regional cuisines. Along the journey, you will be able to view the stunning landscape of the most winding slopes here known as Bac Son, Quan Ba Heaven Gate, Co Tien Twin Mountain, and Tam Son town.
Stop for lunch in Quan Ba before continuing on to Lung Khuy cave. The attraction of this journey is that it takes you through calm villages of highland people. Bam Dan Village immerses you in the Red Dao people’s cultural environment, whereas Lung Tam Village is famed for its long-standing brocade weaving history. Stop by a charming boutique in Lung Tam if you wish to buy purses, costumes, or scarves to take home as mementos.
We continue on a wonderful off-road ride through the jungle and secluded mountain communities until we arrive late in the afternoon at our homestay in Yen Minh. Spend the night and eat at this restaurant.
Day 2 YEN MINH – DONG VAN
We will proceed to Tham Ma pass after breakfast at the homestay. Locals used to transport horses carrying huge burdens on their backs on this pass for a short trip to test their strength. If a horse’s power remains when he reaches the summit, he will be reared; otherwise, he will be slain for Thang Co, a traditional hill tribal meal.
You’ll stop at Lung Cam, a quiet White H’mong village, and Pao’s residence along the way. This house, which inspired the film “Pao’s Story,” is now one of the must-see places on the Dong Van Plateau tour. It appears to be a small artwork of a day in the life of the Mong, full with natural beauty and intriguing charm.
In the afternoon, we continue riding to Dong Van town and check into our hotel. Leave your luggage at the hotel and enjoy a lovely journey to Thien Huong village with our team. This 100-year-old village is just 6 kilometers from Dong Van town and has retained its traditional beauty, which tourists flock to admire. As you progress farther into the settlement, you will come across antique houses with double tile roofs, clay walls, and two compartments.
We leave Dong Van and head to Ma Pi Leng, one of Vietnam’s four most beautiful and dangerous passes. The beautiful panorama of the majestic limestone mountains, the poetic Nho Que river, and the calm towns looming in the distance will take your breath away as you ride through this pass. Undoubtedly, conquering Ma Pi Leng Pass will present you with amazing experiences.
After lunch in Meo Vac, our party heads to Du Gia. After a long day of riding, relax in the cold water of the waterfall. Check into your homestay and then sit down to a great dinner of traditional food.
